Petra Jordan: one of the world’s new 7 Wonders

Petra one of the new 7 Wonders is by far the most visited attractions in Jordan.  It was once the capital of the prosperous Nabataean people and today attracts millions of visitors each year.  This breathtaking complex of ruins and temples built into red rocks was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985.Located to the South of the country, it is easily accessible from Amman’s capital or from the resort town of Aqaba on the Red Sea.
