Gdansk Industrial City (Monument to the Fallen Shipyard Workers)

Discover Gdansk the Industrial City, sometimes referred to by its German name Danzig, a strategic and highly influential port for nearly a thousand years.  What was once the stronghold of the Teutonic Knights and an influential city within the Hanseatic League during the Middle Ages has become northern Poland largest city and capital of the Pomeranian Voivodeship.  It gain notoriety in the 70s and 80’s when it became the heart of political upheavals against the communist regime and  the Monument to the Fallen Shipyard Workers on the Plac Solidarności visibly commemorate victims of the ancient regime.
