Phuket with its 48 km length and 21 km width is Thailand’s largest island. Located in the southern tip of the Phang Nga Province surrounded by the Andaman Sea, it is known to be the Party capital of Thailand. Situated 862 kilometres south of Bangkok, the island is easy accessible, by road with two bridges on the northern tip connecting to the mainland and by air with an international airport with numerous daily flights. What was once a major trading stop between India and China, has become today the favourite touristic destination in the region offering as many as 17 beautiful sandy beaches to choose from. The island is also known to be a wonderful place for diving, considered to be one of the top 10 diving sites in the world. Even though Phuket city is officially the province capital, the more developed west coast Patong beach is the city that gets all the glamour.

Patong city is by far the most popular beach destination on Phuket island. It is famous for its vibrant nightlife with many restaurants, beer bars and disco clubs to choose from. The city is the most developed place on the island offering all the facilities one may need and a wide array of accommodations for different budgets. Being known as the party capital of Asia, with a hedonistic lifestyle reputation many come to enjoy the numerous entertainment complexes and Go-go Bars situated around Bangla Road.
The city is really easy to get around with the three main roads parallel to the Beach. The first, Beach Road (Thanon Thawiwong) as its name suggest follows the coast and is ideal for a quick lunch when chilling on the beach. The second road is Thanon Rat-U-Thit known for its huge Jungceylon shopping centre, its Thai box stadium and local markets. Finally further down, is Nanai Road home to cheaper accommodations and ex-pats bars.
As for the famous party Soi Bangla road it runs from the beach intersecting both Beach Road and Thanon Rat-U-Thit.
The famous Beach of Patong is the key attraction of the town. With its 3 kilometres coastline of white sand and shallow waters it is the perfect place to unwind after a late night out. The beach is ideal for swimming, sunbathing and is also a great place to try some waters sports such as jet-skis, diving or sailing.
